Sarthak Sengupta & Sahil Bagga come from diverse design backgrounds, who have mastered the art of synchronizing their individual creative expressions to create projects and objects that are bold and reflective, provocative yet poetic.
Sahil completed his BFA, in Applied Art, from College of Art, Delhi, 2002. He began his career at product design studio in Delhi, working on product as well as graphic design projects. Soon he discovered his passion for spatial design and from 2003 to 2006 he worked on exhibitions, events, spaces and visual communication.
Sarthak comes from a product design background. After receiving his Bachelor Degree in Accessory Design from N.I.F.T. Delhi, 2001 he started his career as a jewellery & lifestyle designer in Mumbai, at a high end jewellery export house. He continued to work in this field till 2006, rising to the ranks of Design Head and Head of Merchandising.
In 2006, the Indo Italian Chamber of Commerce awarded both of them with scholarships to pursue higher education in Milan. While pursuing their Masters Design course at Politecnico di Milano, they worked on various multi disciplinary projects which gave them the opportunity to converge our varied design skills.
In 2008, the legendary Italian company Poltrona Frau Group selected both of them to be a part of the prestigious Project “I-Nova” a scholarship program by Scoula Politeca del Design which gave them the opportunity to closely study this historic furniture company and be a part of various design projects real to the companies needs. Subsequently they worked under the mentorship of renowned Architect/Designer Giulio Cappellini where they concentrated their efforts towards the future launch of brand Cappellini in India.
In 2009 they started their design studio in Delhi. Since then they have transformed their ideology into a successful brand that creates projects that are beautiful, functional and “As Sustainable As Possible”. Their expertise lies in customizing products and furniture by the innovative use of Indian craftsmanship and materials. Going by the same philosophy, they introduced the “Zero Kilometer™”approach in designing commercial spaces. Recognizing their innovative business model, they were awarded the Young Creative Entrepreneur Award by the British Council India.
